This tool was developed to support national HIV programs and ministries of health to estimate and compare the cost of the following two scenarios in their adult cohorts of PLHIV:
Implementing drug resistance testing (DRT) prior to switching ARV regimens following elevated viral load test results
No drug resistance testing before switching ARV regimens following elevated viral load test results
The outputs of this tool may support program planning and budgeting for drug resistance testing as well as ARV treatment due to switching. The tool, as well as supplementary resources with guidance on usage, can be found below:
